Failing Fiction

Name - Jason Fletcher

Age - 17

Appearance - I don't have anything set in concrete and would be thrilled if someone were to draw him for me. Tall with long limbs, but far from being lanky. He has a strong jaw and dark blue eyes, with a face that isn't exactly 'typical'. Large hands and dark hair, but nothing else picked out aside from that.

Jason Fletcher is only seventeen years old when he dies, beaten to death by a group of students that have  been paid off to fight him. It is a death that is expected and so he is ushered off to the after life...Only, he does not stay there.

Long time rival and maybe-friend strikes up a deal with Lord Aviral, an absent minded God of the spirit realm. They will work for Aviral as Gaurdians of the human realm, in exchange for Jason's life. So he is brought back to life and they are forced into a world that he wants no part in.

The funny part? Jason knew about this world long before his death. He is a rather talented psychic, and knows about the spirit and beasts on the other side of the veil.

His part in my story...is that he's the main character, obviously. He becomes the only pure human on a team of demons and spirits, struggling to keep up with them and balance his life on either side of the veil. And when his team-mates leave for their own lives, Jason finds himself trying to settle the war between spirits, demons, and humans.

A strong psychic, Jason is able to sense things that most others can't. He is acutely aware of the going-on's in the spirit world, even when he's in the human realm. Ghosts have the tendency to flock to him, looking either for help passing on or for revenge or just eager to hurt someone that can actually feel their presence.

Jason is often hit with odd images, that feel very close to being flashbacks. They are all things that he has never seen but are so strong, they cannot be ignored.

Name - Beliel
 
Meaning - Without Worth

Age - Beliel is hundreds of thousands of years old. He comes from a time when days were not marked with numbers, but by the falling of the leaves and the length of a shadow. He is other-worldly and unaging, like all of his kind. He appears to be in his mid-twenties.

Appearance - Tall and pale, Beliel looks as though he is neither male nor female. He is more just a genderless being. Dark eyes without color and hair that is only described as fire-brand, but is long, down past his shoulders even. When they are visible, which isn't often, he has large crow wings that sprout from either shoulder blade.

Beliel is a creature from another time and place, back when the Angel's were considered to be the strongest and most respected of all races. During the fight, he fell in love with a young human girl by the name of Aster. Little is known of his past or his future, and even his present is shrouded in mystery.

He can only be seen by those with very strong psychic awareness, and is most often spotted by Jason Fletcher. Little is known of his intent in current stories.

In the future though, he will be seen more and more often as A series of Two goes on. Beliel plays a prominent role, despite never having a speaking part until the very final book.

SPOILER ALERT - i just need some place to right down my thoughts

Beliel fell in love with Aster, and they had a child just as the war began. This child was nothing special, nor was the grandchild. But with each child born in the family line, their psychic awareness increased. In the year of 1991, a boy named Jason Fletcher was born - and his psychic ability was greater then any before him.

Now, because I'm rambling more then anything else, Jason is not just watched over by Beliel. In a twisted way, he /is/ Beliel. The angel, fallen now, has merged with Jason and they share both power and memory.

And...yeah. I don't have much more planned out on this. I'm still working, lol.

Name - Red Smith

Age - 17

Breed- Labrador Retriever

Appearance - Red, unlike her name sake color, has almost burnt umber hair. It's a sort of orange-brown, actually, but I wanted a fancy word for it. She wears most of it pulled up into two almost triangular buns on either side of her head, which she fondly refers to as her second set of ears.

Her eyes are a very golden brown, and seem to be more intelligent then Red actually acts. She is very expressive in her eyes, and has a difficult time hiding how she feels.

Her clothing style is generally the same outfit but in different colors. Her favorite one happens to be red and grey. Its a rather oddly designed tee-shirt, where the sleeves are dark red and the bodice is a grey. It's loose bottom, and her entire torso is swathed in bandages. She wears dark grey wrist length gloves, without the fingers. Her bottoms are normally dark brown knee-length shorts.

Red never goes anywhere without her dark green choker. She claims that it was a gift from her father. It has a golden charm on it, with the symbol for DOG carved into it.

OTHER-

Red is a clumsy excuse for a ninja. She trips a lot and can be very, very loud. This goes for not just her voice, but for her movements and her actions. Anything flashy, and she's a fan of it. Anything fast, and she loves it. Anything big, and she'll go there.

That said, she does have her good qualities. She is one of the best trackers that her village has ever seen. Even though she does have an odd tendency to claim that she can smell what she's tracking. This is just pushed off as it being an oddity of hers.

Red also loves to swim, and is very good at it. She is not, however, good at manners. In fact, she can be very rude at times and happens to state whatever passes her mind, whenever she thinks it.

Red lives with her father, a large hulk of a man that lives on the edge of town. He is one of the main providers for wood, and spends most of his days out in the surrounding woods chopping down trees. Often, when he would go out on his day long treks, she would go along with him.

That was in the past though, as now she spends most of her time out on missions. Still, when she has a free day, Red loves nothing more than to take her own stroll through the forest. She also loves a good game of catch. And fetch.

Red has two main weapons, if you will. She has a throwing ax, which stays strapped to her back. Beside it, she also keeps a folded up giant shuriken. This is because she's a throwing weapons expert.

At her house, she has a giant ax that is hung on the wall over top of her bedroom door. It's not a weapon that Red is particularly proficient with, but she can use it in a general heave-and-swing kind of way, in a pinch.

*she is color-blind. Monochromacy, to be exact. This means that she sees everything as though it were on a black and white television.

*though clumsy, she can do better when she focused.

*Red is extremely loyal. If she befriends someone or deems though deserving of her affection, then she would go to the ends of the Earth for them.

*she is an amazing fisher. In fact, she catches her own fish and often cooks them for her own dinner. She also loves any type of meat. And dog biscuits, which she usually keeps in one of her weapon pouches.

*extremely energetic. She would rather be out running around than doing anything else.

*Red cannot stand cats. Hates them with a passion, actually, and often holds a certain disdain for people who keeps them as pets.

*when distressed, she whines at the back of her throat. When angry, Red has been known to bare her teeth and growl when particularly angry. When she is super excited, her entire body seems to shake.

Name - Pippin White

Age - Appears to be twenty three, but will not admit her real age.

Nationality - Pippin is a quail ani-morph. In other words, she is a human with animal characteristics. In this case, those of a quail.

Hometown - Clearbrooke Sanctuary; a town where ani-morph's that have been in bad situations with humans can go to live. She lives there now and refuses to acknowledge that she has ever lived elsewhere.

Occupation - Pippin currently works at home, where she washes and mends laundry for the other ani-morphs in Clearbrooke Sanctuary.

Talent/Skills - Pippin is a very talented seamstress, and makes all of her own clothes. She mends those of her children and uses her skill in this department to earn her only income. Aside from that, she is exceedingly skilled at taking care of children and will often watch over those of her neighbors.

Height - 5' 11"

Weight - 101 lbs

Race - Himalayan Mountain Quail

Eye Color - Dark brown, very wide and caring eyes.

Hair - She has long and very soft hair, which is gray in color. She also has a completely black strand of hair that sticks up slightly and than falls down her back, going just longer then the rest of her hair.

Skin Color - very pale

Distinguishing Features - Pippin has two stark white triangles ingrained on her face, at the outer corner of each eye. They run all the way to the base of her ears, near the jaw line. She has darker gray lips, which are almost scaly in feeling. She has small feathers that line the outside of either arm, from her shoulder to her wrist. They are light brown with white tips. Rather than have normal feet, she has three toes and then a dewclaw at the base of her heel.

Pippin is a mother, first and foremost. She has four children of her own - Merrian, Cricket, Shiane and Skitter. She would do anything for her children; live for them, die for them, slave away to skin and bones for them. They are her pride and joy and, often, her only real reason for living.

She is a kind thing though, and treats all children as though they were her own.

As a quail, she is far from being a fighter. She is not skilled with a weapon and she cannot run or hunt. But she could withstand fire if it meant protecting her young. Could, would, has, always will.

In essence, she is a martyr. There is no force on Earth that could sway her from the belief that children, all children, deserve the chance to live a full and free life.

Name - Benjamin White

Gender - Male

Age - 16

Birthday -  June 4th

Appearance - Benjamin usually wears a pressed white shirt and black slacks. Not of his own choosing, but because his mother very much wants him to give off the appearance of being a proper gentleman. That means that he's normally in stiff clothes and occasionally even a tie of some sort.

On the rare chance that he is home alone and able to wear his own clothes, Benjamin loves nothing more than to sit down in a pair of sweatpants and a loose tee-shirt.
